Carved & Cursed Book One of The Enchanted Antique Restoration Shop By Hazel Whitmore

Some antiques hold memories. Others have secrets they're not ready to give up.

Nineteen-year-old Nessa Harris is settling into her apprenticeship at Mitchell Restoration & Antiques in Springfield, Missouri. She's learning the restoration trade from her aunt Gina, getting better at managing the magic that lets her glimpse an object's past, and discovering that her new life is exactly where she wants to be.

Then a mysterious Green Man carving arrives at the shop.

The old wooden panel creaks, warms, and shifts when nobody touches it. Whatever is stirring inside the carving carries powerful emotions from its past, and even Gina hasn't encountered anything quite like it.

Before they can uncover its history, a collector arrives claiming the carving belongs to his family. Nessa publicly challenges his accusation. When the man turns up murdered, her argument with him suddenly looks a lot more serious.

Now Nessa has a murder to help unravel, a valuable antique caught in an ownership dispute, and a magical mystery that becomes more unsettling the deeper she investigates.

With Gina beside her, Barnaby the shop cat underfoot, and a growing appreciation for the difference between magical impressions and actual evidence, Nessa must discover what's really happening before an old accusation destroys another life.

A cozy paranormal mystery filled with family magic, antique-shop secrets, a puzzling murder, and the wonderfully complicated business of learning to trust your own abilities.
